Gaming in Color documentary

Rod Library will host Gaming in Color, a documentary film about LGBTQ issues in the gaming industry, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 22, in the Oak Room, MAU. The film focuses on lesbian, gay, transgender and queer issues in video games, gaymer culture and events, and the rise of queer themes in gaming.

The Office of Business Operations will offer additional training sessions for ProTrav, the new online tool for procurement card reconciliation and travel reimbursements, effective Monday, March 28. Wakonse Teaching Conference information session

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning will host a panel discussion from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, in 378 LIB. Panelists Victoria DeFrancisco, Brittany Flokstra, Abbylynn Helgevold and Jennifer Waldron will share information about the Wakonse Teaching Conference. This year's conference will be Monday to Saturday, May 23 to 28, in Shelby, Michigan. Faculty interested in attending should submit this form by Monday, March 21.

Tu Historia

The Rod Library, as a part of the Latino Americans: 500 Years of History programming, is creating Tu Historia: Latino Americans in Iowa, an oral history collection that focuses on the experiences of Latinos and Latino Americans in the Midwest. The project will promote cultural connections through the stories of individuals. All Latino/as are encouraged to share their stories through photos, video or by just speaking with us. The Web team in University Relations has merged with the Web staff in ITS-User Services, forming a new Web team housed in the ITTC. Requests for website design should still be submitted through the Creative Resources form in University Relations. Requests for general updates and changes to sites may be submitted to DeWayne Purdy or through the new ServiceHub ticketing system.

"Most Likely to Succeed" documentary

The education documentary "Most Likely to Succeed" will be shown at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, in the auditorium, LNG. A discussion will follow. The current U.S. education system was developed a century ago. The world economy has since transformed profoundly, but the education system has not. This documentary tells the story of a school in San Diego that is completely rethinking what the experience of going to school looks like.

Free anxiety screening

The Counseling Center will hold free anxiety screenings at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., Wednesday, March 9, in 103 SHC. Screenings are open to students, faculty and staff. Registration is not required. Participants will complete a questionnaire and meet privately with a counselor who will briefly discuss the results.

"Out of Bounds," a play and conversation about cyber-bullying, will be at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the GBPAC. This is a free, non-ticketed event.
