Intuitive Eating Workshop

This six-week workshop is especially helpful to the chronic dieter and helps to create a healthy relationship with food. The workshop is from 4 to 5 p.m., on Thursdays, beginning Oct. 24. More information is posted online.

2014 annual benefits open enrollment

The 2014 annual benefits open enrollment period will run from Friday, Oct. 18 through Monday, Nov. 18. During this time you can review and change your benefit elections. Changes will be effective Jan. 1. The open enrollment website will be live on Friday, Oct. 18 with detailed information.

Showcase your research and creative work

Submit your proposals to The Creative UNIversity Conference & Celebration, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 3, in MAU. Submissions are welcome in five areas: research posters, research presentations, performances, exhibits and maker demonstrations. Proposals are due by Wednesday, Oct. 30.

Campus cooling shut-down

Starting Tuesday, Oct. 15, Physical Plant will begin switching campus buildings over to winter operations. Cooling systems will be shut down and winterized over the next two to three weeks. Once the cooling is off, it will not be turned back on until late next spring. If you need more information, call Gary Saak at 273-2622 or Ron Hall at 273-2297.

Author Tracie McMillan to visit UNI

Tracie McMillan, author of "The American Way of Eating: Undercover at Walmart, Applebee's, Farm Fields and the Dinner Table," will give the Reaching for Higher Ground keynote lecture at 7 p.m., Monday, Oct. 14, in Lang Auditorium. A reception and book signing will be held from 3 to 4:40 p.m., in the Great Reading Room, SRL. All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend both events.

Diversity mini grants available

Diversity grants are awarded by the Diversity Council to UNI projects and events that enhance awareness of and education about issues of diversity at UNI. Anyone enrolled at UNI or working at the institution may apply for up to $1,500 to support diversity-related projects and initiatives. More information and the application are posted online.

Adobe home-use program - students, faculty and staff

Faculty and staff may purchase the entire Adobe Cloud or just Acrobat Pro separately. ITS recommends purchasing the entire Adobe Cloud as Acrobat Pro is included in the Cloud.
 Students only have the option to "subscribe" to the Adobe Cloud software for a recurring monthly charge.
 University Book & Supply is an authorized reseller for Adobe software for personal use. A valid UNI ID card is required for purchase.

Former Olympian to keynote Hall of Excellence celebration

In celebration of the Elinor A. Crawford and William R. Thrall Hall of Excellence's 10th's anniversary, the School of Health, Physical Education and Leisure Services and the College of Education will welcome Anita DeFrantz.
