'The Vagina Monologues' casting call

Harassment Prevention sessions

Attorney Sara Laughlin will present several sessions of Harassment Prevention Training Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 12 and 13. All faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to attend, especially those in supervisory roles. Several sessions are designated for supervisors only. Registration is required.

Hours for Parking Operations

Now is the time to return your parking permit if you won't need it for spring semester. Parking Operations will be open regular hours Thursday, Dec. 19 and Friday, Dec. 20. Monday, Dec. 23, Gilchrist Hall will be locked. For access, use the intercom on the east side of the building. The office will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Wednesday, Jan. 1. Office hours Thursday, Jan. 2 through Friday, Jan. 10 will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you have questions, call 273-2712.

Panther home games during holiday break

The UNI men's basketball team has three home games scheduled during break. The Panthers take on Iona Dec. 28, Bradley on Jan. 1, and Drake on Jan. 11.  All three games are at 7 p.m., in McLeod Center. General admission tickets are just $5 for these games.

Apply for McElroy Fellowship

The McElroy Fellowship is for students who intend to pursue a Ph.D. and must have graduated in December 2013 or will graduate in May 2014 with a liberal arts degree. Lobbying activity from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31 must be reported by Saturday, Dec. 21. UNI files quarterly reports on specific lobbying issues and the expenses incurred. The university's policy on Federal and State Lobbying and Political Activity is posted online. Reports must be filed each quarter. 7 Habits Cedar Valley

The Greater Cedar Valley Alliance and Chamber  will sponsor a two-day workshop in January using Steven Covey's "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" as the foundation for leadership development. Nomination deadlines for faculty awards

The nomination deadline for the Distinguished Scholar Award and the Outstanding Graduate Faculty Teaching Award is 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24. Faculty nominated for these awards will be sent instructions for submitting materials. Award guidelines and nomination forms are posted on the Graduate College website.

Library hours for finals week

Library hours for Dec. 11 through 17 are extended hours. Patrons may check out materials and enter the building until 10 minutes to closing time, at which time service desks close and the doors are locked. Library online resources are available 24/7.

Early processing of student timecards for Dec. 23 payday

Dec. 14 is the cutoff date for the Dec. 23 biweekly payday. Because of the Christmas holiday, timecards will be processed early and must be approved by 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17 to be included in the Dec. 23 paycheck.
