UNI Diplomat Series - Zen in the Midwest

Rev. Shoken Winecoff will lecture on "Diplomacy and Religion" from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, in 115 SRL. Winecoff is the founder and abbot of Ryumonji Zen Monastery, a training monastery for Zen priests in the Midwest.

Employee Assistance Program - tax/identity theft presentation

The Employee Assistance Program will host an educational expert on identity theft and what victims (or potential victims) can do to secure their identity and financial information. The presentation will be offered three different times: 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, in Ballroom C, MAU. The presenter will take questions after each session.

Juan Luis Suarez will discuss "Modeling Cultural Networks in the Hispanic Baroque" from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, March 24, in the Ballroom, COM. Suarez is the director of the CulturePlex lab, an innovative and interdisciplinary digital humanities research center at Canada's Western University.

Making the most of surveys: beyond measures of satisfaction

The second in a three-part series led by Donna Vinton called "Assessing Service Learning and Community Engagement Activities" will be offered from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, in 378 LIB. This workshop will suggest some strategies for strengthening the value of surveys, particularly for use in evaluating events.

Policy 1.08 Line of Administrative Authority and Policy 3.06 Class Attendance and Make-Up Work have been revised. New policies, 13.21 Youth Activities, Pre-Collegiate Programs and Camps and 13.22 Protection of Children in the Workplace, have been approved.

Library Map Collection survey

The Rod Library is reviewing its Map Collection. In order to provide the cartographic resources needed on campus, faculty who use maps are asked to complete a survey that takes approximately five minutes. The survey is online and will be open through March 24.

This film is the story of a mother's efforts to protect her son, which led to the case that established the separation of church and state in public schools.
