Each year, an ever-increasing number of men, women and their families join Walk a Mile In Her Shoes, an international men's march to stop rape, sexual assault and gender violence.

TAPP fashion show: a cut above the rest

To execute a successful fashion show, there is an elaborate process.

Sew together dozens of talented design students, hundreds of yards of material, several spools of thread … and 19 years of previous success. The University of Northern Iowa Textiles and Apparel program (TAPP) had just that, as they held their 19th annual fashion show, "UNI Catwalk," on Saturday, April 9, in the Lang Hall Auditorium.

Harry Brod, professor of philosophy and humanities at the University of Northern Iowa, will speak on anti-racism and anti-oppression at the 12th annual White Privilege Conference (WPC) in Minneapolis, Wednesday, April 13, through Saturday, April 16. His presentation is title "What's a Straight White Male Doing in the Anti-Racist, Feminist and LGBTQ Liberation Movements? How to work from and against privilege."

CME celebrates 40 years

"The four decades of the CME have been replete with exciting and inspiring programs, speakers, workshops and other activities," said Michael Blackwell, director of the Center for Multicultural Education (CME). "As we enter the fifth decade of its existence, we realize the work of building cultural competency and inclusion on campus and in the surrounding community is not yet over."

UNI's CME will celebrate its 40th anniversary on Wednesday, Feb. 23.
