Business & Economic DevelopmentWe have resources to assist business and industry ranging from metalcasting to community development, groundbreaking research into new non-food uses for soybeans as industrial lubricants and ways to reduce waste. CampsUNI offers a variety of camps for students of all ages, ranging from athletics, science, math, languages, music, interior design, and multimedia. Learn multimedia production, crime scene investigation or robiotics. Most, but not all, of our camps are during the summer. Visit our camps website to learn more about the opportunities for younger students at UNI. Community OutreachUNI Connections is a new 30-minute program on KBBG radio, in Waterloo. The goal is to foster better communication between the greater Cedar Valley community and UNI. The program will air live at 10 a.m. on the first and third Monday of every month, with a rebroadcast at 7 p.m. Listener comments and questions are encouraged. Community Outreach Awards and ScholarshipsVeridian Community Engagement Award County Impact DataUNI is a valuable asset to Iowa's economy and also impacts community at the local level. UNI has cataloged impact data fo all 99 Iowa counties. The data highlights the role UNI plays across the state. Distance Learning ResourcesWe now have students taking courses from across Iowa, the U.S. and even the world, and resources to help them be successful in their distance learning. Educational Resources for EmployersUNI can assist employers with conferences, seminars and other training opportunities for their employees. University Events Coordination Lifelong UniversityUNI’s Lifelong University is one example of our commitment to serving Iowans of all ages. The program, geared toward the lifelong learner, will offer non-credit courses taught by retired and current UNI faculty and staff. The courses will be taught on campus on weekdays. UNI offers a world-class university education, providing personalized experiences and creating a lifetime of opportunities. So come join us for the adventure, and take a class just for the fun of it! Non-Degree Education & TrainingUNI has a variety of Camps for young people targeting a variety of areas, including science, athletics, music, languages and more. Lifelong University offers opportunities for adults to take classes in wide-ranging topic areas. Non-credit or non-degree courses are also offered by Continuing Education and Special Programs. Resources for EducatorsAs one of the premier teacher education institutions in the country, UNI has many resources available for educators, from programs to enhance their curricula to finding their next job. Sources for Student InternsUNI students are eager to gain real-world work experience in their career areas. UNI Assistance for the CommunityOur community resources include help in making our playgrounds safer, the outstanding resources at the UNI Museums and information on energy and the environment. |
