From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.

Click on Network under Internet & Network.

Underneath the Network window, make sure that the Location is listed and checked as Automatic.
Highlight Ethernet and click Advanced...

In the Advanced... window, with TCP/IP selected, choose UsingDHCP in the Configure IPv4 section and make sure Off is selected in the Configure IPv6 section.

Next, select the Ethernet tab and. In the Configure section choose Automatically

- Now choose OK in the lower right-hand corner and click Apply in the original network window. Your computer is now configured to connect to ResNet. You may now close out of system preferences.
- Continue to the final step to register for Internet access.
