Readmission After Suspension
The Application for Readmission After Academic Suspension is available on our website; please click here. to navigate to the application at this time
A student who has been suspended may be readmitted only after applying for readmission and receiving favorable action on the application from the Committee on Admission and Retention. Applications for Readmission should be filed with the secretary of the Committee on Admission and Retention, Mary Baumann, (319-273-2112 or Mary.Baumann@uni.edu), in the Office of the Registrar. The completed Application for Readmission from Academic Suspension and all supporting documents must be received in the Office of the Registrar at least seven calendar days prior to the beginning of the term for which the student is requesting enrollment.
Upon readmission, students must earn a minimum of a 2.00 grade point average each term they are enrolled until their cumulative grade point average is 2.00 or higher. Failure to earn a 2.00 or higher grade point average in any semester following readmission will cause the student be suspended again. Academic suspension for a second time is considered permanent. Only the most extenuating circumstances would warrant considerations for readmission a second time.
It is strongly recommended that you read the Procedure for Applying for Readmission and the Committee of Admission and Retention prior to filling out and submitting your application for consideration.
Students wishing to discuss probation/suspension policy at UNI, or seeking information regarding return after suspension, may make an appointment with Mary Baumann, Associate Registrar, Office of the Registrar, (319-273-2112 or Mary.Baumann@uni.edu).
