Student Spotlight: Victoria Timp
The Office of the Registrar is very proud of its student workers! Our students have had a variety of experiences both in, and out, of the classroom. Student Spotlight is an opportunity for our students to share their stories with you. In our first edition of the PAWSitive Impact, we are featuring Victoria Timp.

How Long Have You Worked in the Office of the Registrar? I have worked with the office since my freshman year, so at the end of this semester it will have been 3 1/2 years. I have loved and enjoyed every second of it!
What do You Enjoy Most About Working in the Office? Where do I start? There are so many things that make working in this office great, but the thing I enjoy most is the people that work here. The Registrar's Office staff are amazing. I have made so many lifelong friends working here. No matter the question, every member of this office will do whatever they can to help you, and that's what makes working here so great. They make me feel comfortable and confident in my job. I like to call this office my "family away from home."
What Would You Like Others to Know About the Office of the Registrar That They May Not Already Know? Students are always first, and we make sure of that. Whether a student comes into the office for assistance or calls with a question that may be unrelated to our office, we will do what we can to answer their questions or find the person who can. The Registrar's Office truly puts "Students First," which fulfills the student service motto of the University of Northern Iowa.
What Fun/Interesting Things Can You Share Concerning Your Internship Experience Occurring This Spring? I will be doing an internship this spring with Rockwell Collins Recreational Center in Cedar Rapid, Iowa. I'm looking forward to receiving a great experience within my field, and living with my sister, her husband, and my adorable nephew. I'm ready to begin my life in the working world, and I'm looking forward to watching my nephew grow up. Rockwell Collins has a great recreational facility that offers so many opportunities, so I am very happy to be doing my Health Promotion Internship there. As of right now, I'm unsure what my post-graduation plans will be. If all goes well with my internship, I'm hoping for a job offer once I graduate!
What Do You Believe to be the Most Valuable Thing You Have Learned From Working and Studying at UNI? If you set your mind to it, you can and will achieve it. I started out a freshman very scared like everyone else. It took me awhile to get used to the "college life" and homework , but I set my mind to it and now I have achieved so many things that make me proud to be a Panther. From working on-campus, I have learned how comforting it is to work with people who truly care about you. It makes being away from home so much easier for some, and it makes work fun. I love coming to work knowing I can call co-workers my friends and, in a way, my family.
