New Student Information System: Increasing Efficiency and Meeting Needs
Progress is being made on the new student information system, and we will soon be gearing up for the debut of the Student Records module with Fall 2011 advance registration. Conversion of student records data, configuration of the system, and training will occur during the Fall 2010 semester and beyond. Throughout this process, we look forward to partnering with you to ensure the system enhances services to UNI students. Some of the enhancements UNI students, faculty, and staff can look forward to are highlighted below:
Students, Faculty, Staff, and Public Users
Search capabilities on the Schedule of Classes will be expanded, so that you can search not only by subject, course number, and course meeting time, but also by meeting day of the week, instructor, course title keywords, instruction mode, and course attribute (e.g., LAC category, honors, writing enhanced. etc.) just to name a few.
Student documents, including, but not limited to, grade reports and degree audits, will be available in real-time - no more waiting for batch updates to occur before updated documents are available!
The Self Service Center has a "My Schedule" feature which provides a view of your classes and exam schedule by week throughout the semester.
Administrators and Departmental Secretaries
Once reports are converted to the new system, there will be no need to request a report from our office, wait for it to be produced, and then wait for it to be delivered to you. Instead, you can run report(s) yourself from your desktop and receive the information in just moments!
