350:114g Introduction to the School Library Program - 3 hrs.

Prerequisite(s): junior standing; written consent of program coordinator. The portfolio created in this course becomes the condition for continuation in the School Library Studies program, and must be taken in the first semester. This class will meet on campus from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6^th and from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, Friday, July 31^st. The remainder of the class will be scheduled independently; students should have access to a current Web browser. 350:115g Organization of Information - 3 hrs.

Prerequisite(s): junior standing. Prerequisite(s) or corequisite(s): 350:114 or written consent of program coordinator. Section 60 meets from 9:00-11:30 on TTh with Professor Stern in LIB 123. Section 61 meets from 9:00-11:30 TTh with Professor Moore in LIB 124. Section 61 is reserved for the new School Library Studies cohort beginning in the summer of 2009. 350:230 Library Automation Systems and Networks - 3 hrs.

350:250 Reference Services and Information Retrieval - 3 hrs.

Prerequisite(s): 350:115; written consent of instructor. Class meets from 1:00-6:00 W with Professor Krueger in LIB 123. All students must register through Continuing and Distance Education, 1-800-772-1746 or 319-273-2504.

350:295 Research in Library and Information Science - 3 hrs.

Prerequisite(s) or corequisite(s): 350:250. This class will be offered via the ICN on June 10^th, June 24^th, July 1^st, July 8^th, and July 15^th. Class will meet on campus on June 17^th, July 22^nd, and July 29^th. Class meets from 8:00-1:00 W with Professor Donham in LIB 123. 350:299 Research - 1-3 hrs.

Prerequisite(s): 350:295; written consent of instructor. Must be taken during the semester when the study is completed and may be repeated. Student must enroll in at least 1 credit hour during the semester the study is completed. The instructor will be Professor Donham.
