Recommended for students who have ACT English and Reading scores of 18-26; students who have ACT English scores of 17 or less are advised to take 620:002 first.  Satisfies the Liberal Arts Core writing and reading requirement.  No credit if prior credit in 620:015 or 620:034.  Prerequisite:  UNI's high school English admissions requirement.

Special Programs and Workshops

 

 

 

The following Iowa Writing Project courses and workshops are designed for K-College practicing teachers, any discipline.  Special tuition rate: $100 per credit hour.  For further information and to register, go to the IWP website, www.uni.edu/continuinged/iwp/, or contact IWP Director Jim Davis: james.davis@uni.edu or 319-273-3842.  Note: graduate credit may not apply to all degree programs; consult your specific program advisor.  Prerequisite for all IWP credit bearing activities: teacher licensure or consent of the instructor or IWP Director.

This initial level institute meets M-F, 6 hours daily.  Register for one of these sites: June 9-27 on campus at UNI; June 9-27 at NICC, Peosta; June 16-July 3 at Mt. Pleasant High School; July 14-August 1 on campus at UNI; July 7-24 in the Des Moines area (site to be determined); July 14-August 1 at Northwestern College in Orange City; August 4-8, plus 4 weekends (school year) and 1 week in June 2009 on campus at UNI.

Prerequisite: prior participation in initial level IWP institute.  An advanced level institute; meets M-F, June 9-20, 6 hours daily, at UNI.
