Meet with a Counselor

The UNI Regional Business Center offers counseling to small business owners in a 9-county region of northeast Iowa. Your business must be for-profit, and you must live and/or your business must be located in Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Chickasaw, Fayette, Grundy, Howard, or Tama County to receive assistance from this office. If you are in another Iowa county, contact the Small Business Development Center in your service area. If you are seeking services in another state, use this map to locate the SBDC office nearest you.

We serve Northeast Iowa businesses with counseling, education, and technical services. The counseling services are designed to assist individuals and businesses in addressing their business opportunities and challenges. Services are provided to a broad range of business types at any stage of their development. The counselors have in-depth backgrounds and utilize the assistance of outside resources to respond to a wide array of business situations.

We provide counseling and assistance in a number of areas, including:

• product development
• assembling financial data for loan packaging
• business planning
• marketing planning
• new business launches
• business expansion or growth plans
• improving profit margins
• forming business collaborations
• business networking
• developing staff and technical skills
• implementing business management techniques
• purchasing or selling a business/franchise
