Bad Boys Toys & Minchk Autobody
By Rob Williams

What started as a car accident rapidly escalated into a successful business that is growing almost too fast for the owners to handle. The co-owner, Heather Minchk, was pulling out of her driveway when she accidentally backed into her father-in-law's vehicle. While talking to her auto-mechanic savvy husband the question arose in her head, 'why should someone else profit from the work that Paul [Heather's husband] does?'

From there, their business took flight. Heather and her husband Tom worked together to formulate a more solid plan for an Auto body business. Enlisting the help of Heather's sister Maureen, and her husband Tom, they soon had a location to operate from.

Heather, Paul, Maureen, and Tom came up with a business proposal that emphasizes Honesty and Quality. As Heather put it, "we have a motto that we work by, 'Honesty or Quality, it doesn't matter which you put first because we stand for both.'" Their belief in this principal is exemplified by their unique approach to doing business. When a customer receives the finished job from Bad Boy Toys & Minchk Autobody, they are also given a CD filled with digital pictures showing the customer a photographic history of all the work done on their vehicle. Not only that, but Bad Boy Toys takes it a step further by printing 100 'limited edition' trading cards with their business name and a picture of their finished vehicle on the front.

Another unique aspect behind Bad Boy Toys & Minchk Autobody, is the kind of work they are willing to do. They boast collision repair, custom paint jobs, hot rod fabrication, auto upholstery, and professional restoration of any classic car or truck. Heather spoke of her family's willingness to do even more for customers as well. As she put it, "The uniqueness with our business, is that we can diversify into different aspects of the automotive industry and we are willing to try different ideas to create profit."

Heather had a number of things to say to future entrepreneurs, and about the newly revamped MyEntreNet program. Her three bits of advice to entrepreneurs before opening a business included: study your customer base, learn how to market to that base, and have a sound business plan with the ability to flex and change when necessary.

Heather also spoke about the MyEntreNet program and how that has helped her family's business. "The advice we would give to new entrepreneurs is to absolutely take the MyEntreNet program. Also talk to as many other entrepreneurs for their advice." Heather talked specifically about the networking features of MyEntreNet and how the exchange of thoughts, ideas, and support was helpful to her family.

In conclusion, Bad Boy Toys & Minchk Autobody LLC's dedication to customer service through individual attention and the pride they take in their work, has led to the success that they are enjoying now. While talking with Maureen, it became clear that the family stays busy with work, but that they love seeing customers delighted with the quality work that they do.
