UNI Speakers Bureau - Leadership

Speakers do not charge fees, unless otherwise noted.

Upon request, we will provide background information to introduce the speaker. When the topic or event warrants, the Office of University Marketing and Public Relations will send a news release to media serving your area.



FLYING IN V-FORMATION: USING VISION TO LEAD YOUR FLOCK.
Understanding what a vision is and why it is bound to the leadership process. Participants will learn how to develop a vision and how to use it to inspire staff members to reach new heights.

FRIENDSHIP AS A METAPHOR FOR LEADERSHIP.
Discussion uses a metaphor of friendship to discuss a relational and ethical model for leadership. Includes examples of leaders who fit such a model.

HIGH SCHOOL LEADERSHIP.
A discussion regarding Young Leaders in Action, a project and leadership education program for high school students.

HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF MEETINGS.
A practical, hands-on workshop designed to help participants think strategically about the purpose and goals of meetings. Participants will learn when and how to schedule meetings, how to develop an agenda that ensures all items are covered appropriately, and how to get the most interaction from meeting members.

LEADERSHIP: EMPOWERING YOUR FOLLOWERS.

THE LIMITS OF THE GOLDEN RULE.
Presentation covers the reasons why the Golden Rule as commonly interpreted sometimes limits our ability to behave as ethical people and proposes strategies for the Golden Rule to "work" as it was intended.

PARTNERING UP FOR POWER: HOW TO ENCOURAGE AND DEVELOP EMPLOYEE EMPOWERMENT.
Understanding what empowerment is, and dispelling the myths of what empowerment is not. Participants will also learn how to create workplace environments that are conducive to partnership and empowerment.
