Former UNI basketball players and coaches reunite in the Dome
Former coaches and players of the UNI men's basketball program will come together for a reunion on Saturday, Jan. 5, in Room 155 (in the hallway between the Physical Education Center and the UNI-Dome). The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. The event is not open to the public. Reporters who would like to attend should contact Sloane Tyler, assistant athletic director for external relations, (319) 273-6667.
Former head coaches in attendance will be Norm Stewart (1961-1967), Zeke Hogeland (1967-1973) and Jim Berry (1973-1986). Stewart, a UNI hall of famer, compiled a 97-42 record, won two conference titles and took the team to two NCAA tournaments. Hogeland's record stands at 70-74, with three straight winning seasons. Berry coached 354 games at UNI, with a 144-210 record.
A short program, featuring remarks by the coaches and current coach Greg McDermott, will begin at 6 p.m.
