UNI College of Education hosts forum for legislators
In an attempt to provide legislators a non-partisan, objective overview of educational issues, the UNI College of Education will host a forum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at the Farner Bocken building in Carroll. Co-host is James B. Wilson, publisher of the Carroll Daily Times-Herald. Legislators from the western part of the state are expected to attend.
"We're hoping to start a conversation between legislators and education experts from UNI, and discuss key elements of a modern teacher education program using UNI as an example," said Thomas Switzer, dean of the college. "The goal is for legislators and education experts from UNI to engage in a dialogue about key issues facing education in Iowa, and to better understand these issues from an educational and political perspective."
