New Hampton Business Development Program to begin Fast Trac-Entrepreneurial Training Monday. Oct. 15
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The UNI Regional Business Center, in partnership with New Hampton Economic Development and the New Horizons (New Hampton) Chamber will hold Fast Trac-Entrepreneurial Training, beginning Monday, Oct. 15. This 10-session training course is the second to be offered in the New Hampton Business Development Program.
Fast-Trac will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Mondays through Dec. 17, in New Hampton, at Linn View Business Complex, 951 N. Linn (Hwy. 63 N.). It is designed to be an intense training course that provides participants with tools necessary for growing or starting a business. The course will include classroom instruction, discussions with local business experts, and hands-on business planning.
Regular cost for this course, including all materials, is $199, but it is being offered in the New Hampton area at the reduced price of $25 per person.
Topics to be covered in the course include the management team, marketing, penetration tactics, operations management growth and financials.

Class reunions to coincide with UNI Homecoming events
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Reunion classes of 1961, 1971, and 1976 will gather to celebrate on the University of Northern Iowa campus Friday and Saturday, Oct. 13 and 14, in conjunction with UNI Homecoming events. Reunion activities are sponsored by the UNI Alumni Association.
A reunion banquet for the 25-, 30- and 40-year honor classes will begin at 5:30 p.m. Friday, in the Commons. The 40-year honor class has been working with the UNI Foundation on a class gift for Lang Hall renovations. Class of 1961 chairs are Carol Crane of Johnston and Merlyn Taylor of Cedar Falls.
Those arriving early for the banquet can take campus walking tours, beginning at 4 p.m. in room 204 of the Commons. The tours also will be offered at 8 a.m. Saturday, meeting in the same place. Also, at 8 a.m. Saturday, the Class of '61 will hold a breakfast in Maucker Union.
For reunion attendees not participating in Friday's events, registration will be held on the University lawn, by the International House, on Saturday from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m., just prior to the Homecoming parade.
An all-alumni tailgate is scheduled from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. Saturday on the South Plaza of the UNI-Dome, co-sponsored by the UNI Alumni Association and the UNI Athletic Club. UNI's Homecoming football game against Southern Illinois kicks off at 4:05 p.m. in the UNI-Dome.
