UNI associate vp receives honor society award; group announces new initiates
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Tom Romanin, associate vice president for Educational and Student Services at the University of Northern Iowa, has received the national Meritorious Service Award from the Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, a leadership honor society.
Romanin was instrumental in establishing ODK on UNI's campus nearly two decades ago. He acted as faculty adviser until last year, and now sits on ODK's national selection committee for the National Leader of the Year Award.
ODK recognizes outstanding students who serve the community. The UNI ODK circle recently inducted several new students.
The new members are ___(name)___, from ___(hometown/UNI faculty), ___(rank)___, ___(major)___. Renee Romano, UNI vice president for Educational and Student Services; and Thomas G. Connors, UNI assistant professor of history, also were initiated. Robert Dice, associate professor of history, is the 2000-2001 adviser.

UNI Golden Key Honor Society announces spring 2001 initiates
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa Golden Key National Honor Society recently announced its spring 2001 initiates.
The Golden Key National Honor Society is an international, non-profit organization with more than 280 chapters at major colleges and universities in the United States, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Australia, Canada, Malaysia and New Zealand. Leaders in higher education, business and public service are members of Golden Key and support the society.
The society was founded at Georgia State University in 1977 and boasts more than 900,000 lifetime members and 12,000 honorary members, including Presidents Clinton and Reagan, UNICF President William Gray, Nobel Prize winner Elie Weisel, and former American Red Cross President Elizabeth Dole.
