UNI announces freshmen scholarship recipients
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa has recently announced the freshman recipients of various scholarships.
The College of Business Administration Scholar Award provides full tuition and fees for the 2001-2002 academic year, which is $3,334. The Social and Behavioral Science Scholarship covers half to full in-state tuition, which ranges from $1,558 to $3,116 for the 2001-2001 academic year. The Department of Art Scholarship pays full tuition, $3,116, for the 2001-2002 academic year, and is awarded to incoming freshman art majors.
The Fred W. Lott Scholarship varies from half to full in-state tuition, for the 2001-2002 academic year. The Glen Boysen Mathematics and the Donald and Marguerita McKay Science Scholarships vary from half to full in-state tuition. The Science, Math, Technology Symposium Scholarship and the J.W. Kercheval Science, Math, Technology Symposium Scholarship cover full in-state tuition for four years, and are awarded to incoming freshman who intend to major in
mathematics.
The Teacher Education Scholarship covers full tuition and is awarded to incoming freshman from Iowa high schools who plan to major in education.
The Multicultural Achievement and Talent Scholarship varies from $200-$1,500 and is awarded to minority students. The General Scholarship varies from $500 to $2,000. The Theatre Activity Scholarship ranges from $500 to full tuition and is awarded to theatre arts majors. The College of Humanities and Fine Arts Dean's Award covers tuition, for the 2001-2002 academic year and is awarded to incoming freshman who intend to have a major in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts.

UNI announces freshman achievement and resident scholarship recipients
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa has recently announced the freshman recipients of the resident scholar awards and achievement scholarships for the 2001-2002 academic year.
The two year freshman achievement scholarships are based on a formula using several criteria, including rank in class, ACT score, grade point average, and financial need. The awards are renewable for a second year with 3.00 GPA and range from $200 to $1,500.
Recipients of the achievement scholarship are __(Name), a graduate of __(High School)__, from __( Address and Hometown)__.
The one-year freshman resident scholarship is based on a similar formula using several criteria, including rank in class, ACT score, GPA and financial need. The awards range from $200 to $500.
