CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa Department of Special Education will offer its summer Leadership Institute in Inclusion themed, "Creating an Inclusion Program that Works," June 19-21 at the Cedar Falls Holiday Inn.

Nationally known experts in inclusion, Diane Browder and Michael Weymeyer will be presenters. Browder will discuss, "Alternate Assessment: Aligning Standards and Benchmarks for Students with Disabilities," and Weymeyer will address, "Accessing the General Curriculum: The Importance of Student Directed Instruction."

Also featured will be panel discussions and presentations with school teams that have implemented successful programs.

The registration fee is $99 and includes lunch and program materials. Seating is limited. Participants may receive 1.20 continuing education units (CEUs). There is a $5 processing fee for CEUs. Participants may receive one hour of UNI graduate credit for a $130 fee.
