CEDAR FALLS, Iowa The University of Northern Iowa has begun extensive renovation of Redeker Center, which normally houses the Department of Residence administrative offices. Those offices have been moved to the area known as the East Towers Lounge in the Towers Center, east of the UNI-Dome.
Guests should use the entrances under the skywalks. Those who need an elevator to get to the second-level office should use those in Bender or Dancer, the two residence halls that make up the Towers. Dancer Hall plaza east of the Towers Center will be closed for construction for most of the summer.
Phone numbers and e-mail addresses will remain the same. The department offices will return to Redeker Center in summer 2001.
Further south on campus, Minnesota Street north of 27th Street, and Dakota Street between Latham Hall and McCollum Science Hall, will be closed for reconstruction. The Minnesota Street project will close the West Gym/Communication Arts Center/Russell Hall parking lot. During the Dakota Street project, access to the McCollum Science Hall loading dock will be available via Wisconsin Street. Projected completion for both projects is July 7.
