CEDAR FALLS, Iowa Although it's been popular since time immemorial to spare the rod and spoil the child, Parker Anderson encourages parents to spare the rod and embrace the child. What should I do when my child doesn't ever want to share a toy?
How can I keep my child from throwing tantrums in the middle of a store?
Why does my child not seem to listen to me?
What can I do to keep my child from imitating all of those violent acts on television?
How do I stop the constant yelling I seem to do all the time?

Organ recital introduces Jebe Hall at UNI's Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center
CEDAR FALLS A recital by internationally known organist Wolfgang Rubsam will be featured at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 14, during the dedication of the Jebe Hall part of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center Crescendo Festival on the campus of University of Northern Iowa.
Wolfgang Rubsam is professor of organ at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater in Saarbrucken, Germany. He simultaneously holds the position of university organist at Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisc., where he is artist-in-residence. Prior to these appointments, he had been professor of church music and organ at Northwestern University and organist at the Rockefeller Memorial Chapel, Chicago.
Widely known for his recordings of Baroque and Romantic organ music, Rubsam has produced nearly 100 CDs and LPs, including two sets of the complete organ works of Johann Sebastian Bach. He studied in Germany and holds a graduate degree from Southern Methodist University. His international career began in the 1970s when he won the prestigious Grand Prix de Chartres competition in France.
The recital inaugurates the Jebe Hall, which features cutting-edge acoustic design and a Wolff Organ which was hand-crafted for the center. Acoustic Dimensions Inc., Larchmont, N.Y., used the most recent developments in acoustic design technology to make Jebe Hall both a performance space for organ music and a rehearsal space for choral music.
The Wolff Organ opus 43 which graces the Jebe Hall was built using centuries-old traditions of hand crafting by Wolff and Associates Ltd., Laval, Canada. The company builds only one organ each year.
Tickets for the recital cost $15 and will be available starting April 1. To order, send a check and stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Organ Dedication Concert, UNI School of Music, 110 Russell Hall, Cedar Falls, IA 50614-0246. For more information, call the UNI School of Music at
