CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The Center for Energy and Environmental Education (CEEE) at the University of Northern Iowa is seeking entries for its annual poster contest. Children in first through sixth grade may submit poster designs that reflect energy conservation or renewal.
There will be two winners per grade, and each winner will receive a $200 U.S. Savings Bond and a trophy. The winners' designs will be used on the annual energy contest calendar produced by the CEEE, and will also be used on a screensaver available on the Web. All entrants receive a certificate. Entry deadline is March 15.
According to Sarah Backstrom, project manager for the poster contest, entry materials have been sent to all Iowa elementary schools, but anyone who has not received the information can contact her at (319) 273-7575.
