J. Ana Donaldson, Educational Technology, co-authored "Engaging the Online Learn: Activities and Resources for Creative Instruction." Samuel V. Lankford, Leisure, Youth and Human Services, publised a paper in a special issue in "Sustainable Places, An Exploratory Study of the Impacts of Tourism on Resident Outdoor Recreation Experiences," Journal of Park and Recreation Administration, 21 (4), pp. 30-49. Jim O'Loughlin,
English Language and Literature, published a short story, "The
Nativity Set," in Facsimilation Magazine (10). Bettina Fabos, Communication Studies, is the author of "Wrong Turn on the Information Superhighway: Education and the Commercialization of the Internet" published by Columbia/Teachers College Press. Fabos will present portions of the book at the American Education Research Association in San Diego in mid-April. Mohammed Rawwas, Marketing, co-authored the article "Ethical Segmentation of Consumers in Developing Countries: A Comparative Analysis," in the publication International Marketing Review. Atul Mitra, Management, co-authored the article "International Compensation: Learning From How Managers Respond to Variations in Local Host Contexts," in the International Journal of Human Resource Management (Vol 14, No. 8, pp. 1351-1367) in December 2003. Dean
Kruckeberg, Comunication Studies,
was a panelist in the program, "The Problem of Media Bribery,"
Dec. 4, at the Public Relations Society of America Public Affairs Symposium,
at the United Nations, New York. Kruckeberg's presentation, "Reconciling
Territoriality: PR, Marketing and Advertising," at the 89th Annual
Meeting of the National Communication Association, Miami Beach, Fla.,
was presented in absentia. At the 7th Annual Interdisciplinary Public
Relations Research Conference, in South Miami, Fla., Kruckeberg presented
"A Reconceptualization of the Construct of the 'Public' Within
a Global Context and From an Interpersonal Theoretical Perspective,"
and "A Composite Index by Country of Variables Related to the Likelihood
of the Existence of 'Cash for News Coverage,' " and was a presider
for the Research Discussions II. Kruckeberg presented, "Public
Relations, not Propaganda, for U.S. Public Diplomacy in a Post-9/11
World: Challenges and Opportunities," Feb. 28, at the 13th Annual
Meeting of the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, Cincinnati,
Ohio. Susan Hill, Religion and the Undergraduate Program in Women's Studies, will participate in a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Seminar, "The Seven Deadly Sins as Cultural Constructions in the Middle Ages" in Cambridge, England in July/August. |

Gallery of Art exhibit catalog. A silver Addy also was awarded to Gerald
Anglum, Melissa Barber, Randy Darst, Aubrey Glynn, Denton Ketels, Elizabeth
Conrad Lavelle and Mary Taylor for the series of admissions
