.....Thomas J. Switzer, College of Education - assumed the presidency of the Teacher Education Council of State Colleges and Universities at a meeting held in Washington, D.C. TECSCU is an organization of 155 universities nation-wide with programs for the preparation of teachers. He will serve as president of TECSCU for the next year.
.....The UNI Foundation received an Award of Excellence from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education's Mid-America District Recognition Program in the Educational Fund-raising Division for "Your Favorite Oldies," a pre-call piece for the 1993-94 UNI Foundation's National Phone-a-thon Campaign.
.....Deborah Zlotsky, art - received support from the Iowa Arts Council
and UNI Graduate College to attend a residency program with artist David
Salle at the Atlantic Center for the Arts in New Smyrna Beach, Fla. in January.
Her work is also included in a three-person exhibition at Southwest Texas
State University in San Marcos, where she will give a lecture this month.
Zlotsky also has work included in: the 25th Bradley National Print and
Drawing Exhibition at Bradley University, Peoria, Ill.; the International
Juried Show 95 at the New Jersey Center for Visual Arts, Summit, N.J.; Group
Exhibition at Muse Gallery, Kansas City, Mo.; and Wells National Juried
Exhibition at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. Zlotsky's "Regrets
Only" won the Director's Choice Purchase Award and is now a part of
the permanent collection at Nebraska Wesleyan.
