The Eyewitness Laboratory in the Psychology Department at the University Northern Iowa focuses on research in eyewitness memory and identification, and many aspects of face recognition. The Laboratory offers instruction and research training for both graduate and undergraduate students. Established in the Psychology Department at UNI in 2001 by Dr. Otto H. MacLin, the Laboratory is an outgrowth of the program of research into Sensation & Perception, Metacognition, Face Recognition and most recently Eyewitness Identification Research conducted while supervised as a post doctorial researcher by Professor Roy S. Malpass who has been in the area since the late 1960s. This site contains useful information for researchers, law enforcement officers and attorneys in the criminal justice system. The Eyewitness Laboratory provides both educational and expert witness services for law enforcement and the courts.
