Innovation in Meeting Needs
A new online master’s degree program was developed in Physical Education. Students began the program in spring 2012. In cooperation with the Waterloo Community School District, a new program graduate program has begun at UNI-CUE to prepare teacher-leaders. Approximately 20 teachers are enrolled in the program. Efforts are also under way to develop a new program in educational leadership designed specifically for teachers in international settings. This program is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2013.
A number of programs, including Philanthropy, Teaching English in Secondary Schools, and TESOL have successfully converted from delivery via the Iowa Communications Network to Adobe Connect. The Master of Music Program, Literacy Education, School Library Studies, and Educational Leadership all plan to move to Adobe Connect in the next program iteration.
