Over the past several weeks many public claims have been made about what the most recent Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) says about the financial status of UNI. We think it's important that you consider the following information in making up your own mind about the university's situation.
As chief academic officer, it gives me great pleasure to share with you that UNI President Ben Allen will receive an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degree from Iowa State University during ISU's commencement on Saturday, Dec. 17.
President Allen was nominated by faculty members in ISU's College of Business for his work in the field of transportation and logistics. He is being recognized for his exceptional service during his tenure as a faculty member and administrator at ISU, his service to public higher education in Iowa and his scholarly achievements and contributions nationwide.
This degree is a great honor and a testament to the quality leadership President Allen has provided throughout his academic career. UNI is fortunate to have a president who is a strong administrator and scholar, committed to academic excellence for all students and faculty.
Please join me in congratulating President Allen on this achievement.
