Katherine Martin named acting dean of UNI's Rod Library
Professor Katherine Martin, head of Collection Management & Special Services in the University of Northern Iowa's Rod Library, has been named acting dean of the library. She replaces Marilyn Mercado, who will retire on June 30. Martin's appointment is effective July 1.
"I'm very pleased Kate will serve as acting dean," said UNI Executive Vice President and Provost Gloria Gibson. "Her experience and dedication make her well-suited for this assignment."
A search committee for a permanent replacement will be named this fall.
Martin was named head of Collection Management & Special Services 1988. She holds an A.B. degree from Douglass College, Rutgers; and M.S.L.S. and M.A. degrees from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
