Welcome from the Provost
Welcome to the University of Northern Iowa! As I begin my third year at UNI, I hope your experience will be as exciting, challenging, and fulfilling as I have found it to be.
UNI is a dynamic campus, dedicated to academic excellence and beaming with energy and enthusiasm. Faculty are recipients of major teaching and service awards. In addition, their creative activities, research and scholarship bring institutional prestige and contribute to our vision of becoming a leader among the nation's finest comprehensive institutions.
I am very excited about the potential you bring to help move the university to an even higher level of excellence. Dedicated teaching, ground-breaking research and committed service, all play a crucial role in student success and your success. We also strive to become a more inclusive environment, welcoming those of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Please get to know not only the colleagues in your department and college, but also those outside your specific discipline. New ideas emerge and become a reality through conversations, exploration and interactions with others.
I believe each and every one of us can make a difference.
I ask you to join me in making a difference that will impact our students, community, state and world. I look forward to meeting you soon and in the months to come, hearing all about your experiences and the many contributions I know you will make to UNI. Have a wonderful academic year!
