Hanish appointed interim vice president for Administration & Financial Services

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jan Hanish as interim vice president for Administration & Financial Services at UNI. She replaces Tom Schellhardt, who will retire on Aug. 23. Jan's appointment is effective Aug. 24.

Jan is a respected veteran administrator who has experience in a wide range of leadership roles at this university. Her perspective and ability to relate to students and their needs are a real asset to UNI.

As interim vice president, she will oversee the university's finance, budget, business operations, event management, human resource services, facilities services, public safety, environmental safety operations, sustainability and administration & financial services technology services.

A search committee for a permanent replacement will be named soon.

Jan was named assistant vice president for outreach and special programs at UNI in 2007. She holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Spanish from UNI and a Ph.D. in higher education administration from the University of Iowa.
