6.07 Faculty and Non-Instructional Employee Graduate Work

Non-tenured employees of the university or tenured employees whose major assignment is not in an instructional department, who meet the regular requirements for admission to graduate study, are eligible to register as resident graduate students. The amount of graduate work which such students may take during any instructional term will be determined by the terms of their employment. Such employees may undertake programs for graduate degrees from the University of Northern Iowa.

A member of the instructional staff may register for graduate courses after consultation with the head of his/her department. Instructional staff members not on tenure and below the rank of Assistant Professor may undertake programs for graduate degrees from the University of Northern Iowa. Instructional staff members with the rank of Assistant Professor or above may enroll in graduate courses but may not became candidates for a degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
