5.11 Merit System and Special Assignment Appointments

The special assignment designation under Section 3.102(2) of the Board of Regents Merit System Rules may be authorized upon request and approval of the Resident Director, under the following circumstances:

(1) With a designated University Supervisor (Basis Code I) position assignment when existing directional responsibilities with same are required of a staff member for a period of at least five (5) consecutive scheduled working days as a result of the absence of the regularly assigned incumbent.

(2) With added duty assignments which normally are required of, and are expected to be continued with, a higher rated Regents Merit System position when same has/or is expected to remain vacant beyond a pay period.

Pay for special assignment will be provided in accordance with Section 3.39(6) of the Board of Regents Merit System Rules.
