4.73 Retirement Protection Plan
Staff members who have completed 1 year of service and have a disabling
condition are eligible to have the monthly premiums under the basic retirement
plan to TIAA-CREF or substitute retirement plan assumed by the carrier during
the continuance of such total disability to age 65 if the disability commences
prior to age 61 and to continue for up to 60 months but not beyond the June
30 coinciding with or following the attainment of age 70 if the disability
occurs after age 61.
The University assumes the total cost of the retirement protection insurance
plan.
Life insurance is continued in force (with no further employee contributions
required) throughout the duration of total disability. |
