4.09 Faculty/Staff Use of University Apartments

Purpose:

To provide guidance relating to temporary housing for faculty and staff who may need time to explore the local housing market before making permanent arrangements.

Policy Statement:

University Apartments provide housing primarily for students who are married or have children. Based on need and availability, housing is also provided to graduate or non-traditional students. If space remains available, housing will be provided on a limited basis to faculty/staff under the following conditions:

  1. Rental rates for faculty and staff will be at a higher rate per month than student rates.
  2. The number of faculty and staff assigned will be limited to no more than 10% of the available apartments. Faculty/staff will be assigned only after offering available apartments to eligible students.
  3. The maximum period of faculty/staff occupancy will be one year.
  4. Faculty and staff will be responsible to abide by the terms and conditions of the current University Apartments contract.
