SAFETY SCHOOL

The content, depth, and scope of the National Playground Safety School are unique. During the school, participants review playground safety issues, learn to plan and design areas for safe play, and discover ways to affect change in your communities. The benefits you will receive are endless. You will be able to identify the most common playground problems and learn how to fix them and you will discover the most important things you can do to prevent playground injuries.

Included in the class materials you will recieve are a comprehensive manual including space for notes, an in-depth summary of the classes, appendix material and suggested readings. Another valuable benefit of attending the Safety School is the personal networking opportunities. By completing the entire course, you are eligible for 3.0 General CEUs for professional development.

We encourage every participant to become part of a nationwide network of S.A.F.E. playground educators by completing this course and passing the certification exam covering S.A.F.E. playgrounds. Cost for the certification exam is $100.

Safety Schools are available at NPPS Headquarters at the University of Northern Iowa during the month of August and on a contractual basis. To receive a free safety school brochure, contact NPPS.
