Brown Bag: NASA Space Grant Consortium at UNI - April 29

Please join us from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, April 29, in the Maucker Union Presidential Room. Ramanathan Sugumaran has been named the new director of the NASA-Iowa Space Grant Consortium (ISGC), shifting the ISGC leadership from ISU to UNI. Sugumaran ("Sugu") will present an overview of the ISGC, its mission, programs and the opportunities it offers UNI faculty, research staff and students. You will also learn about the Iowa NASA EPSCoR program that UNI leads as well.  With the submission of just a two-page concept paper in the fall, you could earn a $20,000 summer research fellowship.  We submitted only one this past fall and that one submission was selected for a fellowship.  If you want to learn more about how NASA's priorities might fit your research interests, please review the enclosed links.  Climate change, for instance, is a NASA research priority.  You might just be surprised by the fit that exists.

Visit http://www.ia.spacegrant.org/ for more information on the ISGC. To RSVP or for more information, contact Hillery Oberle at hillery.oberle@uni.edu or 3-3961.
