Freshman Orientation Agenda

Student Agenda (tentative)

PLEASE NOTE: 
Freshman are required to attend the full two day program (see the agenda below).  This includes a full day (into the evening) on day one, and a half-day (ending by 1:00 pm) on day two. You will receive a detailed agenda with session locations and descriptions at check-in.
Students and parents will attend check-in and the opening session, and then divide out into separate programming for the afternoon.  Families will meet back up during the Student Services Fair at approximately 5:30 pm on day one.

Day One

8:00 - 10:00 am Check-in, Towers Center
Beginning at 8:15 through 9:45 am Campus tours (on the way to opening session)
9:00 - 10:00 am Student Disability Services session (optional), GBPAC
10:15 - 11:00 am Becoming a Panther: Opening Session, GBPAC
11:15 - 12:15 pm Lunch and Group Activities
12:30 - 1:00 pm Dean of Students Session
1:00 - 1:30 pm Academic Transitions
1:35 - 2:20 pm Academic Expectations Session with Faculty
2:30 - 4:30 pm Academic Program Planning
4:45 - 5:30 pm Home by the Dome
5:15 - 6:15 pm Student Involvement Fair, Maucker Union
6:15 - 7:15 pm Purple and Gold Dinner
8:00 - 11:00 pm PANTHERPALOOZA

Day Two

7:45 - 1:00 pm Meet at the Rod Library to begin your morning rotation sessions.
  Arrive at the Rod Library at the time listed on your advising packet (provided during academic advising on day one). You will be escorted through the following sessions:
  - Technology and computing
  - Financial literacy 
  - One-to-one academic advising appointments
  - Registration for fall semester classes
  - Student ID pictures
9:00 am - 1:00 pm Student Services Fair, Maucker Union
9:00 am - 12:00 pm Meningitis Vaccinations (optional)
10:30 am and 12:30 pm TEACH Grant Information Session (optional), Lang Hall 12
9:30 - 1:00 pm Orientation Check-Out and Library Tours, Rod Library

Day Two

8:15 - 9:00 am Parent Transitions
9:00 am - 1:00 pm Student Services Fair, Maucker Union *This session will include one-to-one consultations as needed with financial aid counselors, representatives from the Student Health Clinic who will be available to collect mandatory health forms, and several other student service offices.
9:15 - 10:00 am Spiritual Connections
10:30 am and 12:30 pm TEACH Grant Information Sessions
10:15, 11:00, 11:45 am, 12:30 pm Residence Hall Tours
9:15 - 1:00 pm Meet back up with your student, Maucker Union
9:30 am - 1:00 pm Orientation Check-Out and Library Tours with your student, Rod Library
