Non-Traditional Student Association (NSA)

 

The Non-Traditional Student Association (NSA) is a multifaceted group. Each year's focus depends on the interests and concerns of its members. The mission of NSA is to:

 

  • Provide technical and informational assistance to NT students
  • Promote a sense of community among NT students through social interaction
  • Establish on-campus and off-campus service projects as deemed appropriate by the association

 

Over the years the group has:

 

  • advocated for non-traditional student concerns
  • sponsored a Brown Bag Information Speaker Series
  • published a Non-traditional Student Newsletter
  • publicized university services/events on the NON-TRADITIONALS mailserv
  • participated in homecoming parades
  • sponsored late afternoon socials once a week/month
  • co-sponsored "Take Back the Night"
  • staffed an information table in the union for NT students at the beginning of the semester
  • co-sponsored computer training workshops for NT students
  • Sponsored trips to Adventureland, Mall of America, etc.

The Non-Traditional Student Association has a special focus on leadership development for all members. It's a great opportunity to foster individual growth, increased enjoyment and a sense of community while learning great job skills.

 

The Non-Traditional Student Association meets monthly. Students are notified of meetings and activities through their e-mail.
