Orientation & Registration

 

The University of Northern Iowa is a student-centered university with a campus-wide commitment to removing the obstacles that stand between students and success. Students are invited to an advising and orientation session prior to their first enrollment. These sessions will include information about:

 

  • Student success
  • Financial Aid
  • Meeting with university advisers
  • Academic program planning
  • Assistance in selecting courses
  • Registration
  • Obtaining a u-card (student ID)

 

Students are also given the opportunity to learn about the following services:

 

  • Academic Services:  

         Speed Reading, Effective Study Strategies, Study Reading         

         Mathematics and writing support

 

Consider your orientation and registration day your first day at UNI. You will have the opportunity to talk with university staff who can help make a smooth transition to student life. Each orientation session includes a special meeting for non-traditional students.

 

If you have been admitted to the university, you will be invited to an an orientation event by the Office of Admissions. Students who have not been admitted may obtain application information through the Office of Admissions.
