UNI to present 'Girl Rising' for Women's History Month

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa will present a viewing of the film "Girl Rising" at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, in the Lang Hall Auditorium as part of Women's History Month.

"Girl Rising" is directed by Academy Award nominee Richard Robbins and tells the stories of nine girls from nine countries, written by nine celebrated writers and narrated by nine renowned actresses. It showcases the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change the world.

Discussion and refreshments will immediately follow the film. The viewing and discussion are free and open to the public.

This event is sponsored by the College of Education's Diversity Committee's Educators For Change Film and Book Series with support from the Women's and Gender Studies Program, the Center for Multicultural Education and a UNI diversity mini grant.
