CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- A University of Northern Iowa alumnus is giving college graduates the tools to find a job in their field of interest. Douglas Danne, who graduated from UNI in 1976 with a B.A. degree in science, is the author of "Employment Essentials—College Edition," published in January 2012.
"There’s so much focus now on social networking that grads tend to skip the essential preparation of learning how to interview," Danne said. The book's goal, he explained, is to help job applicants develop themselves into a marketable and desirable product.
A Japanese publisher will translate and publish the book in Japan in August 2012, and Danne will soon take a book tour in Japan. The book will also be translated into German, Dutch and Spanish.
"The college grads I visited during my Michigan tour like the book because it is easy to read and is focused on making them better candidates through empowering their interview skills," Danne noted.
Danne's book explains in detail the entire process of the search for a first job and lays out a roadmap for readers to follow. The book contains tips and tools on how to land a professional job, as well as real-life examples, sample resumes and practical advice from experts.
Danne is the founder and CEO of D.A. Danne & Associates, LLC, in Novi, Mich.
