Scott Ketelsen named director of UNI's Office of University Relations

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Scott Ketelsen has been named director of University Relations at the University of Northern Iowa. Ketelsen is currently director of Marketing and Media Production at the University of Iowa. He will assume his new duties on Sept. 16. Scott Ketelsen

"I am very pleased to have Scott join UNI as the director of University Relations," said UNI President Bill Ruud. "He is a proud UNI alumnus and strong Panther supporter. His background in marketing and communications will strongly support our overall strategic communications efforts, our enrollment goals and the university's strategic plan."

Ketelsen holds a master's degree in higher education administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations and communication from UNI. He has worked in higher education since 1999. He held several positions at the University of Iowa from 2005 to 2013, where he was responsible for the institutional marketing plan and budget.

Before his time at the University of Iowa, Ketelsen was director of Marketing Services and director of Operations, Continuing Education at Kirkwood Community College.

The director, along with the University Relations team, provides a consistent university message through high-quality publications, electronic communications, campus communications, community relations, media relations and print services.

Ketelsen lives in Cedar Rapids with his wife Suzy, who is also a UNI alumna, and three children: Drew, 24, Amy, 21, and Adam, 16.
