CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Registration is now open for the management workshop "Are You Micro-Managing, Macro-Managing or Right Managing" hosted by the University of Northern Iowa Executive Development Center. The workshop is 8:30 a.m. to noon, May 16, in the Business and Community Services Building on the UNI campus. The registration deadline is May 9.

"While most of us agree that you should adjust your management approach to the person, their experience and the situation, it's not as easy as it seems," said Kim Recker, program manager for the UNI Executive Development Center. "The key is to use the right management style at the right time, in the right situation, depending on the person.

Instructor Mary Jo Kavalier will introduce workshop participants to the situational leadership model and help them determine when to utilize each management style based on a variety of work situations.

The workshop cost is $125 per person. UNI Alumni Association members receive a 10-percent discount. Businesses can purchase a consortium membership for $1,999, which entitles the business to 10 seats to any of the 2012 management training workshops. Half-day workshops count as a half seat. After the 10 seats are used, additional seats can be purchased at a discounted rate of $175 per person.

For more information or to register, contact the UNI Executive Development Center at 319-273-5851 or execdev@uni.edu.
