CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – {made}, an online shop and community of eco-inspired artists, has won $5,000 in the Southeast Iowa Dream Big Grow Here regional contest and the chance to compete for an additional $10,000 in the state-wide contest this spring.

Dream Big Grow Here was started by the University of Northern Iowa's MyEntre.Net, Iowa’s online community for Iowa entrepreneurs and small business. The contest is a way to award grants to deserving small businesses and entrepreneurs to help them grow their businesses in Iowa. The southeastern region's contest is the first of 10 regional competitions.

According to {made} co-founder Tiffany Colton-Ralston, "the support from the community and the artists we represent was re-affirming of our business motto: Give. Receive. Repeat."

In the Southeast Iowa Dream Big Grow Here contest, {made} was among the top-five vote getters and then competed against WeACT Iowa, based in Mt. Pleasant; Keokuk Dragway in Keokuk; Ray's Specialty Meats, also based in Mt. Pleasant; and Wild Whisk, based in Fort Madison, in the final-round before a panel of judges.

"We are really pleased with how this context came together," said Kiley Miller, executive vice president of the Mt. Pleasant Area Development Commission, which was the regional contest host. "It was an exciting contest, demonstrating the passion, creativity and entrepreneurial zeal of our region.
