CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa Political Science Society will host the 2nd annual OXFAM America Hunger Banquet from 1 to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 9, in the Maucker Union Old Central Ballroom.
The purpose of the event is to increase awareness about the great disparity in world food distribution and the millions of people who remain malnourished. Participants will be randomly divided into groups with different income levels and given meals based on what is typical of that income group.
The event is free and open to the public. The banquet is hosted in part by the UNI Center for International Peace and Security Studies (CIPSS) and Iowa High School Model United Nations.
