Food Waste Reduction Workshop Scheduled for Oct. 16 in Sioux City

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The Iowa Waste Reduction Center (IWRC) will offer a food waste reduction workshop Oct. 16 at the Stoney Creek Inn in Sioux City. The workshop, focusing on methods to reduce food waste and divert it from the landfill includes presentations and discussions from regional experts such as Linda Scheid, Executive Director at the Food Bank of Siouxland and Fred Keston, Area 1 Representative from the Iowa Waste Exchange.

Attendees will also hear from IWRC specialists as well as a panel of representatives from area organizations and businesses who will identify the challenges to food waste reduction and diversion.

The workshop is being held as part of the Iowa Food Waste Reduction Project which is funded through a Solid Waste Alternative Program grant from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources

The IWRC has been providing environmental services including business assistance, industry training, as well as research and development for over 25 years.
