El Nino' to be topic of professor's talk at the University of Northern Iowa

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- 'El Nino in a Changing Global Climate,' will be the topic of a guest lecture at the University of Northern Iowa at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, in Seerley Hall, Room 115.

The discussion will be presented by Paul Loubere, professor of geology and environmental geosciences at Northern Illinois University. Loubere will discuss the climate phenomena known as El Nino and its effects on North America, as well as the rest of the world.

The guest lecture is sponsored by the UNI Sigma Xi scientific research society and the College of Natural Sciences.

Admission is free and open to the public.
