CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Registration is now open for the three-day training program "Project Management: Communicating for Project Success," hosted by the University of Northern Iowa Executive Development Center. The training takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 11-13, in the Business and Community Services Building on the UNI campus. The registration deadline is June 27.

"Communication is critical to the success of all projects, and poor communication is cited as the number one reason for project failure," said Kim Recker, program manager for the UNI Executive Development Center. "Project managers must master the complexities of communication through a variety of communication channels to be effective at all organizational levels."

In this course, participants will develop a communication management plan and identify the best strategies for reaching various stakeholders. Also, the class will discuss managing conflict, negotiating and managing stakeholders’ expectations, and reporting progress.

The cost is $995 for three days of instruction plus $300 for class materials, professional development units, lunches, refreshments and parking.
